(Amelie) Marei Löllmann works under the name Marei Rei and as part of the artist duo Polyphrenic Creatures (with Ulrike Bernard). The different areas of her practice are concerned with generating spaces for experience and action that invite us to collectively touch and disrupt existing structures. In her educational work, textiles, sound, language and space are merged into diverse collective and experimental formats. Löllmann considers learning (and unlearning) in an embodied sense, placing the focus on enabling emancipatory and reflexive processes.
The term "social fabric", which uses the properties of a textile to describe societal structures, characterises the aspects of her practice – loose threads unite in more or less densely woven structures whose collective elasticity and malleability are continuously tested.
